Help us unlock double the support for survivors this Christmas

This Christmas, Safety Net has an exciting opportunity to raise twice as much for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse through the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026.

But before we can take part, we need your help.

We’re looking for individuals, businesses, trusts and organisations to become Big Give Pledgers by making a promise to support our campaign.

What is the Big Give Christmas Challenge?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest match funding campaign. During one week in December, every donation made to participating charities is doubled, helping charities like Safety Net raise even more to support the people who need us most.

Before the campaign can begin, charities must secure pledge funding from generous supporters. These pledges are then used to match public donations during the campaign, helping every gift go twice as far.

What will your pledge support?

This year’s campaign, Volunteers helping rebuild lives after abuse, will help fund Safety Net’s Volunteer Service.

After the immediate crisis has passed, many survivors continue to experience isolation, low confidence and the lasting effects of trauma. Our trained volunteers provide compassionate, trauma-informed support that helps people rebuild their lives at their own pace.

Your support will help us:

  • Recruit, train and support dedicated volunteers.
  • Deliver one-to-one befriending for survivors.
  • Provide welcoming community groups, including our Coffee & Creative Hub and Men’s Group.
  • Create opportunities for people to reconnect with their communities, build confidence and reduce isolation.
  • Ensure volunteers receive the training, resources and ongoing support they need to make a lasting difference.

Together, these services help survivors feel less alone, regain confidence and move forward with hope.

What is a pledge?

A pledge is simply a promise of funding.

Unlike a donation, you won’t be asked to make your payment today.

Instead:

  1. Complete our online pledge form before 6 September 2026..
  2. Choose the amount you’d like to pledge (the minimum pledge is £100).
  3. During the Big Give Christmas Challenge in December, your pledge will be used to match donations made by members of the public.
  4. After the campaign has finished, you’ll be invited to fulfil your pledge.

Your pledge helps unlock matched funding, meaning every public donation can have twice the impact.

Could you help us reach our pledge target?

We’re aiming to secure £1,000 in pledges before the end of August.

Whether you’re an individual, local business, trust or organisation, your pledge could help unlock thousands of pounds of support for people rebuilding their lives after domestic and sexual abuse.

Every pledge, large or small, brings us one step closer to making this possible.
